MS/HS Study Hall - Mr. Joseph Hewitt lives in Bedford, KY with his wife, Samantha and his two children, Nathaniel (10), and Graham (2). He enjoys various outdoor activities such as hiking, hunting, and fishing. He is the Vice President of the Trimble County Youth league Soccer Board and coaches U12 and U4 soccer teams. His favorite Bible verse is Joshua 1:9 "Have I not commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest."

TEACHERS

Computer - Mrs. Laura Kazee has taught at CAC since 2017. She graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. She met her husband, Chris, after college when they both were serving as missionaries in Russia. They have been married for eighteen years and have two children.

During her time at CAC, Mrs. Kazee has served as a middle school homeroom teacher and has taught middle school Science and middle/high school History. She currently teaches Computer for grades 1st-11th. Mrs. Kazee loves being a part of women’s ministries and serving in her church, spending time with her family and friends, eating Chinese food, and being a cat mom to her cat, Tigger.

One of her favorite Bible verses is: “Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” -Ephesians 3:20-21

1st Grade - Mrs. Pamela Martin has been with CAC for 16 years doing what she loves most, teaching children about Jesus. Mrs. Martin has a bachelor's degree in elementary education with specializations in geology and geography. While at CAC, Mrs. Martin has taught 1st grade and some 5th grade. She loves teaching 1st grade the most as she enjoys teaching the children to read and write their own stories. Seeing the growth and transformation in each child through the year never ceases to amaze her.

Mrs. Martin's time at CAC has been a family affair as all three of her children graduated from CAC, and her husband coached basketball for 10 years.

Her favorite Bible verses are Luke 2: 1-21, the Christmas story, which her 1st graders learn every year. In her free time Mrs. Martin enjoys hiking with her husband, spending as much time as she can with her grandchildren and family, traveling, taking pictures of God's beautiful creation, swimming, reading, and writing. She has authored a children's book titled Where's Christmas? by Pamela Love Martin. Mrs. Martin lives with her husband, just outside of Worthville, and they are expecting their 3rd grandchild in April.

MS/HS History - Mrs. Rebekah Temple is in her first year at CAC. She teaches Middle/High School History and Science. Mrs. Temple has a bachelor’s degree in Biological Anthropology with a concentration in Archaeology. She has been in public archaeology working with schools, government agencies, profit and non-profit groups for 20 years. She has homeschooled both of her children and worked in private schools as a substitute teacher. Mrs. Temple has been married for 28 years to her husband, David. They have two children, Stephen and Cherokee. Her favorite memory verse is Isaiah 41:10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10, and Mrs. Temple’s Hobbies/Interests include gardening, seismology, and climatology.

5th Grade - Mrs. Kathy Castle has been with CAC for almost a year. She started the second semester of the 2023-2024 school year teaching 5th grade, and has remained for 2024-2025. She has attended CUNY & KCTCS majoring in Business Administration and minoring in English Literature. She is certified to teach English as a second language through Michigan University. Mrs. Castle is active in her church as their Treasurer and the Children’s Ministries Director. She and her husband have three children and three grandchildren. She and her family love to travel and especially enjoy traveling to Greece where she was born. Her favorite Bible verse is John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him, shall not perish but shall have everlasting live."

MS/HS Physical Education - Ms. Katie Stafford

K3 - Mrs. Ashley Kates has been on the CAC team since 2023 as the K3 teacher. She received her CDA (Child Developmental Associate) in 2017 and has worked in childcare ever since.

Ashley was born and raised here in Carrollton and still lives here with her husband and 4-year-old daughter. In her free time, she loves to spend time with family, cook with her daughter, and spend time in nature.

One of Ashley’s favorite Bible verses is Isaiah 41:10 which reads, “Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.”

MS/HS Bible - Pastor Jon Elardo, known as Pastor Jon, has been at CAC for 3 years as the MS/HS Bible teacher. Pastor Jon is pastor of English Baptist Church here in Carrollton and has his master’s degree from Carolina University of Theology. Jon is married to Shelly, and they have three adult children and 4 grandchildren. Jon enjoys sports, Clemson football, everything Michael Jordan, Bible commentaries, and theology books. Pastor Jon hosts a weekly teaching podcast (Sunday Night Church Camp) and a daily 2-minute devotional podcast (Early Morning Church Camp). His favorite Bible verse is Psalm 119:20, “My soul is crushed with longing after your ordinances at all times.”

3rd Grade - Mrs. Jessica Blevins has taught Third Grade at CAC since 2015 (10 years). Prior to that, she was a College and Career Coach. Mrs. Blevins holds a bachelor's degree in History: Middle and High School Education and a master's degree in Reading Specialist: P-12th Grades. During her time at CAC, she has hosted an Art Club and has been the Cross-Country Coach. Her favorite Bible verse is Psalm 34:4  I sought the LORD, and he heard me,
and delivered me from all my fears
. In her free time, Mrs. Blevins enjoys reading, scrapbooking, and camping. Mrs. Blevins, her husband, and two daughters live in Owenton, Kentucky.

HS Math - Karin Rudd 

MS/HS English - Mrs. Hannah Edwards has been at CAC for two years as the sixth-grade homeroom teacher and 6-12 grade English teacher. She has a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Northern Kentucky University. Mrs. Edwards lives in Milton, Kentucky with her husband John and five children on their family farm. You will often find Mrs. Edwards enjoying a coffee, reading a book, and baking French patisserie. Her favorite verse is John 16:33, “I have  said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

4th Grade - Mrs. Amy Vance, who originally hails from Georgetown, Indiana, has been teaching for 22 years. Of her 22 years of teaching, she has taught at CAC for 5 years. Mrs. Vance graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. She later went on to earn two Masters Degrees; one in Elementary Education and one in English, with a Middle School English Endorsement. Early in Mrs. Vance’s teaching career, she taught elementary school for several years. Then, she moved to middle school and taught English Language Arts. She’s currently teaching 4th grade at CAC. Mrs. Vance lives in Carrollton, KY with her husband Jeffrey, son John, daughter Alexandria, and German shepherd Banjo. Her favorite Bible verse is 2 Corinthians 12:9 “But he said unto me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.’” When Mrs. Vance isn’t teaching, she’s cooking or baking, entertaining guests for dinner, going on hikes or going camping with her family, or doing DIY projects around her 1940s home.

K5 - Mrs. Elizabeth Owens teaches Kindergarten and has been on the CAC team since 2018. She has her associates degree in early education. Mrs. Owens coached volleyball at CAC for the 2024-2025 school year. Her favorite Bible verses are 1 Peter 5:7 “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” and Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Mrs. Owens enjoys baking and spending time with her family. She and her husband live in Carrollton and have three children who attend CAC.

MS/HS History - Mrs. Jeanine Sutherland 

2nd Grade - Ms. Michaela Frey has taught at CAC since 2014 (11 years). She was a previous Kindergarten teacher and has now taught 2nd grade for the past five years. She studied elementary education through Baptist College of America. Her favorite Bible verse is Jeremiah 33:3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not. Ms. Frey enjoys playing the piano, summer camp ministry, and serving at her church.

K4 - Mrs. Susie Scott has been a part of the CAC for 21 years. From history to art, she’s taught a lot of different subjects - though she happily left math to others! But for the last 17 years, her heart has been firmly planted in the K4 classroom, where she’s been shaping the minds (and imaginations) of young learners with a lot of love and just the right amount of fun.

She calls Madison, Indiana home, nestled in the largest historical district in the state. When she’s not busy teaching, she loves trying different recipes, traveling, and exploring her charming town. With a large extended family that’s as full of personality as it is laughter, she’s always on the go. Her favorite Bible verse? Matthew 9:12. It keeps her grounded and focused on her calling to serve others.

Mrs. Scott is happiest when she is with her son Silas, and her two loyal pups, Sophie and Max. Together, they keep things lively, whether it's Silas with his quick wit or the dogs with their boundless energy.
